Keyboard Shortcuts

Certum Draft has dedicated shortcuts for getting around the app, the matter workspace, and the Finder integration. Shortcuts are scoped to where they’re useful — a matter shortcut like ⌘S (save) only acts on an open matter, not on the dashboard.

Note

All shortcuts use the macOS modifier keys: ⌘ (Command), ⇧ (Shift), ⌥ (Option), ⌃ (Control).

App-wide

These shortcuts work anywhere in Certum Draft.

Getting Around (Go Menu)

These shortcuts jump between the main window’s sidebar destinations. They work whether you’re on the dashboard or have a matter open.

Creating and Opening (File Menu)

These shortcuts work from the dashboard or with a matter open.

Tip

New Lead (⌘⇧P) only appears once the Notion Leads database is configured. See Potential New Matters for setup.

Matter Workspace

When a matter is open, these shortcuts act on it.

Save (manual flush)	⌘S	Auto-save fires 2.5s after the last edit; this is for an immediate save
Close Matter	⌘W	Waits for any pending save, then returns to the dashboard
Refresh Documents	⌘R	Re-scans the Working Documents folder
Email Client	⌘E	Opens your mail app with a pre-filled subject
Critical Dates panel	⌘⌥I	Shows or hides the Critical Dates inspector (matters with date rules only)

The same three actions are also on the Matter menu — Close Matter, Refresh Documents, and Email Client — so you can find them without memorising anything.

Matter Form (Details Tab)

When you’re working through a matter’s form:

Tip

Quick Entry narrows the form to just its essential fields — handy for intake. The setting is remembered per matter type, and the toolbar shows how many fields are in scope (“6 of 48 fields”).

Note

The workspace’s extra sections have no keyboard shortcut — they’re reached by clicking the sidebar. Which sections appear depends on the matter: Settlement on Purchase and Sale matters, Institutions on Estates matters (or any matter that already has institutions recorded), and Invoices on every matter.

Finder Services

These shortcuts work in Finder once Certum Draft has launched at least once (so the Services are registered).

These shortcuts are configurable in System Settings → Keyboard → Keyboard Shortcuts → Services. If they don’t fire, see Finder Integration troubleshooting.
