Test Templates¶
The Test Templates feature helps you validate and preview your matter templates before using them.
Opening Test Templates¶
From the main screen, click Test Templates.
What You'll See¶
The left sidebar shows all your available templates. Click on any template to see its details on the right.
Template Details¶
When you select a template, you'll see three tabs:
Info Tab¶
Shows the structure of your template:
- Blocks - The sections in your template (e.g., "Client Information", "Property Details")
- Fields - All the fields in each block, showing:
- Field label and key
- Field type (text, date, currency, etc.)
- Whether it's required (shown with a star)
- Configuration - Paths to precedents folder and matter workbook
This is useful for checking that your matter.json file has been read correctly.
Form Preview Tab¶
Lets you test how the form will look when creating a matter:
- Fill in sample data in the fields
- See how different field types behave
- View the collected data at the bottom
Use this to verify your form works as expected before creating real matters.
Precedents Tab¶
Lists all the precedent documents found in your template's precedents folder:
- Shows document names and types (.docx, .xlsx, etc.)
- Helps verify all your precedent files are being detected
